Suffolk's Big Quick Read

Up until the end of July we want as many people as possible, across Suffolk, to read 'Hello Mum' by Bernardine Evaristo. If you are a member of a reading group or any group of people (work colleagues etc) or an individual who wants to join the Big Quick Read, contact your local library who have free copies to give away. We want as many people in the community as possible to read this book and discuss what they think. Please let us know what you think here now....

I'm sure it will!

My other half didn't like it at all, but i thought it was good - very thought provoking....

I only read the book because I was asked to but once I started I really got involved. I could picture the scene, feel the tension and as the mum of a 14 year old son it's quite scary.

Really well structured, something I was surprised about as someone who enjoys much longer novels, I was able to get a feel for it straight away. Managed to read it in about an hour so it was definitely a 'quick read'! Hopefully lots of people will be able to relate to this story, even if it's just from hearing similar stories on the news etc.

Our reading group met last night and we all agreed what a fabulous book 'Hello Mum' is. One of our members said she had recommended the book to a friend who is a youth worker and they found it really insightful.

It's the only book we have ever all agreed on!!

We are now passing our free copies on to others to read.

Well done for choosing such a fab book this year.
